A drawing a day...

Just giving you an example of how much I draw- Its pretty easy to fill up an entire A4 page of nonsense in a day- I thought I'd just upload a few of my unused doodles.

But I didn't want to be saved by YOU.

I like using photoshop but I kinda felt things still look a bit too digital and clean. I wondered how things would look if I tried scanning in some different paper textures to try and make my work look a little more like the retro comics they were inspired by…

The Crocodile Pirate

Really wanted to develop some of the characters I made at Cambridge some more. It was meant to be a pirate cat but for whatever reason, a pirate crocodile just seems to work a lot better.

New Characters

I've spent some time further developing unused characters and concepts from my sketchpads I used last year at university. I do feel very strongly influenced by american animation and comics lately but I hope  my work still has its own identity.

I've been going back through a lot of sketchbooks I made last year and tried reworking some of my rough characters into possible final images:

Two panel comic

I'm trying to make some simple two panel comics hopefully featuring different characters.

Its still pretty time consuming but I hope to have a few ready for my portfolio (and in colour.) I wanted to draw as much as I can before the deadline in March.

Starting 2014!

2014 has been busy so far. I've had no time to play the new Mario or even the Zelda remake that came out a few months ago! You must obviously understand my dilemma.

On the plus side, My comic book is finally finished and I'm extremely pleased with it, 20-ish full colour pages! I finished it at last!

I will be taking them and my dummy books to the London Gallery show on the 11th of February, theres still a lot to do too. I don't want to have unrealistic expectations or get my hopes up too much but there will be several big name publishers there. At the moment, I'm trying to make six A3 sized images to be a part of my show.
