Single Page Comics

I'm still making a lot of single page comics and uploading them to my instagram lately, its encouraging since at least 2,000 people are engaging with the content I produce.... I just need to keep them coming. (and work on making better jokes and writing.)

VideogameBear Comics continued

Still trying to make my own comics, makes me realise I really want to try making something with a story, I think its time to start using more text and words.

VideoGameBear

Thought my blog was finally due another update. I've had a little bit of success recently by sharing my boring, nerdy opinions about videogames on Instagram. Feeling inspired I also uploaded some art to accompany my game page-  the bear has become the videogame bear! I've even managed to sell a few art prints!

The account is still heavily focused on showing off a videogame collection, but I'm determined to turn that around this year and upload more drawings. If your interested in seeing it yourself, the account name is @VideogameBear, all art art related posts are under the RetroGameBear hashtag.

Drawing Trees

Thought my page needed an update so heres what I've been doing lately. I'm still approaching a few magazine editors and seem to get a lot of comments that I draw trees really well so I thought about making a comic with a fantasy setting. Heres a a few attempts from earlier this year:

Gold Key Comic inspiration

I've been getting a lot of encouragement to draw more comics lately (Bear comics in particular) and I want to give it another go.

I drew a lot of inspiration from Gold Key children's comics released in the 1960's which published a lot of comics based on popular television cartoon characters of the time (Flintstones, Hong Kong Phooey etc) So I wanted to go for a bit of a retro look:

A page from a George of the Jungle comic(this scan isn't mine and I'm not sure who to give credit sorry!)

New updates

Its been a while since I've updated my blog so I wanted to make a fresh start since its the new year at last! I've been busy with a couple of fun small projects such as greetings cards and calendars-

But really, I'd like to dedicate more time to making comic strips again- especially since I'm getting a lot of encouragement from people within the industry, I've already started on a few...

Treasure Hound

I want to start making more of my own comic-books and getting them printed out. Treasure Hound, a jungle adventure story I've wanted to make since Cambridge university, finally feels like its coming together!
